What makes us human in a world run by machines?

The Last Human Advantage: Thriving in the Age of Artificial Intelligence is a groundbreaking nonfiction guide for creators, entrepreneurs, and thinkers who want to navigate the AI revolution without losing their soul.

Drawing on decades of experience in software, AI, and personal development, author Richard H. Webb explores what truly separates humans from machines—emotion, purpose, struggle, creativity, and ethical reasoning—and how to amplify these traits to thrive in the age of automation.

  • How to protect and project your authentic voice in an algorithmic world

  • The role of purpose, creativity, and ethical decision-making in the future of work

Absolutely consumed this book and the information in it. Richard, the author, is 100% correct: AI can help you do many tasks, but it cannot replace you as you are what brings the EMOTION and HUMANITY to the table. I’d recommend this to anyone even remotely interested in this very timely topic!

    • Richard H. Webb

Thanks so much for the 5* review, Eric. I’m so happy you enjoyed the book.

  2. David P Brown (verified owner)

I’ve read this book twice and recommended to a few of my associates. He’s right on the money with my thinking as well, just wasn’t able to fully formulate the thought yet. Richard does an excellent job of bringing to the table the pros and cons of AI. His writing is clear and non-technical. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This book changed the way I look at AI — and honestly, the way I look at myself.

I picked up The Last Human Advantage expecting another “AI is coming, brace yourself” kind of book… but it’s not that at all.

Richard Webb has this way of cutting through the noise and saying what everyone else should be saying but isn’t:
AI isn’t the enemy — coasting through life on autopilot is.

A few chapters in, I caught myself nodding along because the ideas just make sense. He breaks down why humans still have the edge — purpose, emotion, story, lived experience — but he explains it in a way that actually hits you, not in some academic way that puts you to sleep.

    The best part?
It made me feel excited about the future instead of intimidated by it. That hasn’t happened in a while.

If you’re trying to figure out how to stay relevant, creative, or competitive as AI keeps evolving, read this.
If you want to feel more confident about where you fit in this new world, read this.
Honestly… if you’re just feeling a little lost right now, read this.

It’s one of the few books I’ve read this year that actually stuck with me.
